Samsung Opens World’s Largest Phone Factory

Located in India, the new factory is capable of producing 120 million smartphones a year, which is almost enough to meet demand for the whole of India right now. But Samsung is eyeing the future and the potential for massive growth in the country.
India is a country with a population of 1.3 billion people, and yet there are only 425 million smartphone users. Clearly there’s untapped potential in the market, and coupled with the fact India is currently the world’s fastest growing market, Samsung spotted an opportunity.
As  Bloomberg reports, Samsung will today open the world’s largest mobile phone factory, which is located in the city of Noida in India’s northern state of Uttar Pradesh. Such is the importance of the factory, India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi and South Korean President Moon Jae-in will be in attendance to inaugurate it.
